This season, it’s all about the lightweight denim shirt – a staple item no woman should be without. In today’s Trend Report, we show you how to accessorize your denim shirt and turn it into a style statement with inspiration from D&G. For their Spring/ Summer 2010 ready to wear collection (which happens to be our 2011 summer here in sunny SA), D&G featured denim as their key piece. Styling it up with shiny, long and loose hair, leopard print accents, tan boots and aviator sunnies. My O Magazine Shoot – Behind the Scenes

Some of you may remember (from my obsessive tweeting) that in December last year, I was lucky enough to get flown to Cape Town to feature in a real people fashion shoot for O Magazine. I’m no shmodel, but it was great fun to experience life as a model – even if it was just for a day. The O Magazine fashion gals, Fashion Ed Robyn Cooke (styleguidecapetown.blogspot.com) and her assistant Luisa are such experts!  I mean, look at the outfits on this rack, without even meeting me, they found my style and knew what would look good on me. I was in love with the Hip Hop jacket and cargo pants, I wanted to take them home. Even the shoes, gimmie! I also got to finally meet fellow blog stars and fashionistas Allison Scotsman (AKA Lady Luxe, aka @TweetsinHeels from skinnybitchesinthemaking.blogspot.com) and Milisuthando Bongela (AKA @missmillib from missmillib.blogspot.com) who are both such amazing girls with awesome blogs. Our feature, Blog Stars is in the current issue of O Magazine (March 2011) which should be out on shelf right now. I can’t wait to see it for myself (yay me), but thought you might enjoy a little behind the scenes…

Im so excited! Eeeeek, I can barely contain myself – calm down, calm down, calm down. Ok, whew, I’m back… Last week my hubby and I put in an offer for our very first, free standing home – no more complex living for us – happy dance-. Well, without jumping the gun, everything seems to be signed, sealed and (almost) delivered and if all goes as plan, we’ll be making the big move soon. It’s an old home, but a homey one and one that we’ll have so much fun fixing up. He’s planning what he’s going to break down and I’m planning what I’m going to fix up, but not walls, more like buy new furniture and revamp the space! Men are from Mars, women from Venus.
