One of the things I enjoy most about my job, is getting to try out loads of makeup. This of course, is every girls’ dream and I love that it enables me to discover gorgeous, new products, Like Estee Lauder foundations for example. These timeless treats have earned their way at the very top of my beauty list. There is literally a foundation for every occasion, and this week I tried out another gorgeous Estee Lauder product that left me impressed, yet again.
Although today’s beauty product review is not a “foundation”, it certainly gives your foundation an added advantage. It adds that ‘lil bit extra, the same way a pair of sky-high heels can add a boost to your confidence. That’s really the only way I can describe Estee Lauder’s Lucidity Translucent Loose Powder. Although, unlike the heels, there is no agony at the end of the day, just a really pretty face.
I’ve never been a huge fan of powders (I know I’ve said this before), but whenever I think of powder and foundation together, I always, somewhere in the back of my mind, expect them to fail. Twice now I have been proved wrong. First with the Double Wear Powder Compact and now with Lucidity Translucent Loose Powder. It’s a very light and luxurious powder that sets your makeup in place and keeps it there for an impressively long time.
I used it to set both Estee Lauder Double Wear and the Vita Mineral Foundation I reviewed last week. On both occasions my makeup lasted way longer than any foundation should. Without touching up at all during the day, I could actually see the foundation on my facecloth when I washed off my “face”. For me, that generally never happens, as Im always touching my face, but be honest, how many foundations can you say last for 17 hours? Without being plastered on of course!
You can use a powder brush (Estee Lauder has a great soft and fluffy one) to apply Lucidity powder, or you can just use the velvety applicator that it comes with – I actually prefer the applicator, but you’ve got to be careful that you don’t overdo it. Don’t make the mistake of “rubbing” powder up and down, I found the best way to apply it, is to lightly press a small amount onto your face and you’re set – literally.
The Lucidity Collection also contains special, light diffusing ingredients to give your skin a “soft-focus” effect. While this may sound a bit “yeah right” it actually does give your skin a really fabulous glow and it does hide those fine lines. Even under harsh light (especially in the bathroom) my face looked completely natural. I actually felt really great didn’t feel like I was “melting away” as the day went by.
