One of the best products I have purchased to date, has got to be the Eight Hour Cream by Elizabeth Arden. It’s like a bit of magic in a bottle and earns my ‘ Fab Find Friday’ for this week.
It took me a while to actually go out and buy one for myself. I had heard lots of fabulous reviews about this cream, and always wanted one. So, for “research purposes”, I eventually went out and bought one. I don’t know why I was so reluctant in the first place, this was the best money I had ever spent – and it was under R200.
Now, before I go any further – I must tell you that I have a problem with my lips chapping. Or at least I used to before my Eight Hour discovery. Since I have been using Eight Hour Cream, my lips have never looked (and felt) better – If you don’t believe me, just ask my hubby *wink* *wink*
I have been putting it on religiously, every morning, just before bed and a slick here and there during the day. I did have the choice of buying the Eight Hour Cream Lip protectant, instead, but went with the original Eight Hour Cream. I figured, it could be more versatile that way.
For those of you that don’t know, Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream has a vast number of benefits, including to help heal chapped lips. It can also be used a skin protectant if you are suffering from sunburn or windburn. Eight Hour cream has been used to sooth minor skin irritations, scrapes, abrasions and rough spots on the feet, as well as to soften cuticles and hangnails.
Interestingly enough, according to the sales lady at their counter in Pavilion – it can also be used on split ends. Now, while this may seem a little strange, I had to give it a try. My hair was feeling rather ratty the other day, and I decided to rub a little eight hour cream into my ends. I have lots of split ends, with my hair being so fine. Although it didn’t “cure them” (not that I thought it would) it certainly made them appear a lot better. So, yet another benefit.
Doing some research on the product, I discovered that it was the first ever Arden cosmetic and the name “Eight Hour” was added after a loyal user of the product, claimed that it healed her sons’ scraped knee in eight hours. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream was developed over seventy years ago, by Ms. Arden herself.
The key ingredients in Eight Hour Cream include:
- Salicylic Acid – A beta hydroxy acid pioneered by Elizabeth Arden over seventy years ago. It exfoliates gently to encourage smooth skin and provide anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits.
- Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate) – Acts as a biological antioxidant to help protect the skin from free-radical damage. Easily absorbed by the skin to improve the skin’s texture and has soothing properties.
So girls, if you’ve ever wanted an all-in-one product, this is the one to have. No handbag should be without it! Its perfect for those in-case-of-emergency moments like the odd bee sting or scrape.
