Taking care of your hair goes beyond using the right hair care products and a good diet. Using the wrong brushes can really damage your hair, despite your attempts to look after your locks in every other way.
That’s why I was super stoked when ghd launched their very own range of professional hair brushes, that glam girls can use at home. There are ten brushes in the ghd brush collection, including two hair combs. I got to test drive two of their brushes, and the ones I think a lot of girls would need on their dressing table.
Take a look…
The ghd Paddle Brush
While I did find this brush a little heavier than my Philip Kingsley Paddle Brush, it’s still better than most brushes I’ve used. The bristles are super soft and don’t pull your hair at all. You can use it as a normal brush, or to blow dry your hair straight down, no ironing needed, well in my case at least. Another fab feature is you can brush your hair without it getting all static, a plus for girls with long, straight hair like mine. Like all the ghd brushes, it has a sleek, non slip finish, so it feels really good when you hold it, and the grip gives you control.
ghd tip: For a straight fringe that sits perfectly, alternate between brushing to the left and right with the paddle brush, while blasting with your dryer on a low heat and medium speed setting.

The ghd Natural Bristle Radial Brush – Size 3 (44mm barrel)
Ideal for blow drying perfection for long hair! This is the biggest barrel brush in the natural bristle collection and is just the ticket for smoothing your locks down. Because it has natural bristles, it helps grip the hair, giving you more control. This size is ideal for long curly hair, while the smaller one, size 2 is better suited for short curly locks. I found it easy and very nice to use on my straight hair too.
ghd tip: A round brush can double up as a dressing brush. Mist your Size 3 brush with ghd Style Final Shine Spray before gently brushing your lengths and ends to calm static and flyaways and add a glossy sheen.
