REDKEN launches a new range of hair care products, targeted specifically to thickening your hair and leaving you with fuller locks! YES PLEASE! Say hello the new Intra Force system…
The range consists of three products, including a Shampoo, Toner and Scalp Treatment and comes in two variations; one for coloured hair, and one for naturally thinning hair.
The Detoxifying Shampoo gently cleanses hair, helping to reduce excess sebum and DHT to promote hair density and an overall healthy scalp environment. The Lightweight Toner helps to de-tangle, moisturize and strengthen the hair while replenishing the hair and scalp and preventing breakage. The Scalp Treatment, designed for daily use, is a fast absorbing treatment with a unique liquid-to-foam formula that energizes the scalp and promotes hair density.
All in all, I love the idea of this range and it seems more and more hair ranges are focusing on scalp health, because at the end of the day, beautiful hair cannot grow in a messy foundation.
I’ve just started with this range and so far, I like it. I haven’t been on it for 30 days, (as recommended), so cannot report on the effectiveness, but after five days of usage my hair feels fabulous! Soft, shiny and it has a great texture.
I’m keen to see the results after 30 days, so watch this space!
Some interesting facts from REDKEN on thinning hair
- 50% of men and 74% of women claim to be effected (Ref Health & Beauty Study, Men & WOmen, IPSOS, 2007)
- By age 54, over two-thirds of men experience some form of hair loss (Reference Hair Loss & Treatment Methods – Gallup Study, 2008)
- Nearly 30 million women in the US experience hair loss at some point in their lives (Reference Hair Loss & Treatment Methods – Gallup Study, 2008)
Some of the main causes of hair loss
- Enzymatic conversion of testosterone to DHT^ (Dihyrdaoxytestosterone) DHT is a toxin that blocks receptor sites in the hair follicle that normally attract nutrients. A high proliferation of DHT is the number one cause of hair loss in both men and women.
- Suffocation of the hair bulb As collagen accumulates around the hair bulb it hardens, resulting in suffocation of the bulb that prevents teh root from taking a firm, deep hold i the scalp.
- Poor nutrition due to decreased micorcircultion. Compression at the bulb prevents teh flow of oxygen and nutrients carried by microcirculation from reaching the follicle.
