Summer and braids go together like milk and honey!
Braids offer the perfect way to keep your locks out of your face, while ensuring you look stylish and pulled together, despite the heat!
Lately, I’ve been obsessed with trying to braid my hair! I am far from good at it, but the more I practice, the better I seem to be getting. Thankfully there is loads of help on Youtube to make life a little easier!
Here are five of my favourite, easy braided hairstyles with video tutorials to help you along the way and possibly give you some hair-spiration!
Which one is your fave?
1. French, Side Flat Twists
I love this look because it reminds me so much of my Colgate “Cosmo” Shoot that I did with Optic White.
I like that it’s pretty but still gives the hair a rocker edge! Mindy from Cute Girls Hairstyles shows you how to create this do and it looks pretty simple.
2. The Twisted Rope
Lilith Moon is one of my fave hair fashionistas on Youtube! The thing I really like about her tutorials, is that she doesn’t have thick, full hair naturally, and that she uses clip in hair extensions to make some of these looks work for her.
For us mere mortals, this means that we too can fake longer, thicker and fuller hair and create some really stunning looks.
Check out her how-to video on re-creating the Twisted Rope, inspired by Rihanna.
3. Half Up Half Down Braid
Here’s another braided hair style with a twist! Mimi from Luxy Hair teaches you how to create a simple braided look that is perfect for summer!
The little flower just adds a bit of a boho summer statement, but you can do this style with or without it.
4. Cascading Waterfall Braid
This is one of the looks that I have been practicing a lot, just becuase I love it so much! Maegan from Love Maegan has gorgeous hair and shows you how to recreate this look.
5. The Classic French Braid
Not the most “exciting” of braided hairstyles, but sometimes it’s all about getting those tricky basics right!
And who better to teach you how to create a classic French Braid but the fabulous Lauren Conrad and the girls behind TheBeautyDepartment.
Check out this step by step video that is really worth watching if you want to master this hair style.
I hope that you enjoyed this post, and that you’ll try some of these tutorials.
