Brows are still big business in the world of makeup and beauty, and I must be honest, I’m kinda obsessed with beautiful, sculpted brows. So today, I thought I’d share some of my favourite current brow products and some quick and easy brow tips that I’ve been using…

Bear in mind, you don’t need every single one of these products, but since we’ve already established that I’m obsessed with brows, I like to go back and forth between these products, and sometimes, I even layer them over each other, just because!

Brows are an art and playing around with different styles, you can take your beauty routine up a notch.

Chanel Le Sourcil De Chanel Perfect Brows Kit

This is one of my all time favourite brow products! I’ve had mine for years, and if I had to pick one “all in one, can’t live without, take me anywhere” brow product, this would be it!

Chanel le sorcil de chanel browsThe kit contains everything you need for perfect brows! So even when you’re travelling or out and about and need a quick brow touch up, then this is your BFF!

It contains all the tools you need to groom, including; mini tweezers (that are actually pretty amazing!), a brow brush (to help you shape those perfect brows in place before applying product and after) and a really nice angled brow brush (that picks up just the right amount of product to allow you to enhance your brows, without risking overdoing them). It’s also got a decent magnifying mirror (instead of a regular mirror) in the compact, so you can get precise application.

Inside there are three shades (my kit is the one for Brunettes called “Brun”) and believe it or not, I use every single shade in my kit. Natural brows are never one single shade, and applying a single colour to your brow (unless you’re a master blender) can make them look too fake.

What I like to do is use the darkest shade in the kit to define the arch and tail of my brow. I then go over the brow from the middle section with the centre shade and I use the lightest shade to enhance the start of my brow and blend it over into the rest of the brow.

The formulation is, as with everything Chanel, amazing! It’s a power, that almost feels a bit waxy and it’s brilliant for brows as it doesn’t leave a nasty and harsh powder line.

black|Up Perfect Brows

I got this product a little while ago to review and at first I was a little taken a back by it’s different design, but once I started using it, I fell in love and have been using it ever since.

black-up-perfect-browsWhile black|Up is a brand targeted towards women of colour, there is no reason to let it go unnoticed if you’re caucasian girl like me. Some of their products are really amazing! Like Perfect Brows for instance. If you have dark hair, then check it out!

Perfect Brows is designed to help you create a flawless, clean lined brow with a natural finish than what you’d achieve from a pencil. In other words, it’s perfect for brows. Use the flat side to darken up and enhance your brows, and the tapered point to create natural looking hairs.

The applicator is like a lipstick case, and at first I thought this was strange, but after I tried it, the thicker applicator actually allows for a much more flawless application, and because you’re not pressing up too close to your brows, you get the right amount of needed product without overdoing it.

Bodyography Essential Brow Trio

This gluten free brow trio from Bodyography is another great brow enhancing product that fills and intensifies brows and gives them great colour and definition.

bodyography-essential-brow-trioIt comes in a trio of  3, highly pigmented natural shades which can be mixed to create natural looking brows.

The powdered colours are matte and created to flatter all hair colours. I’m brunette with bit of an ombre going on and I love mixing all three shades on my brows to give them a natural looking finish.

It’s a long wearing product that’s talc and paraben free and it leaves customization and definition up to you. Use it dry to create perfectly natural brows, or use it wet if you want seriously defined, sharp brows.

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer

Don’t freak out! This product isn’t actually brow specific, but when I was playing around with it, I discovered that it’s a perfect brow primer and enhancer too!

benefit-theyre-real-tinted-lash-primerTypically, it’s a mascara primer with a light brown tint that you can wear on it’s own, or layer it under mascara for seriously “wow” lashes that stand out.

What I like to do is apply it as a lash primer on my lashes, and then before I replace the wand in the tube, I just brush the wand over my brows. The result it perfeclty primed brows that look pretty darn good.

Sometimes I leave it as is if I’m going for a natural finish, but I’ve often used it under my Chanel, black|Up or Bodyography brow products and it just holds everything in place without leaving a gooey, sticky texture like most “mascara’s” and brow gels would.

I don’t know if it’s the ExtraFlex brush or the feathery tinted finish, it just leave my brow hairs beautifully defined, separating them and coating them a bit of water-resistant gel finish.

L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Artiste

Another great, affordable and must have brow product that you can see I’ve used to death is L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Artiste.

loreal-superliner-brow-artisteI don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m not the biggest fan of brow pencils. I don’t know if my heavy hand is too blame, but I often feel they leave my brows looking too harsh and too drawn-on if you know what I mean?

With L’Oreal Brow Artiste, heavy hand or not, I get great looking brows with this pencil!

It’s a dual use brow pencil, where one side (the pencil) allows you to draw on and intensify your brows based on what colour best matches  your brows. I found that mix of Brunette and Dark Brown work for me. Like I’ve mentioned above, I just like to do my brows with different shades to make them look more natural and these two work for me.

The little brush on the lid is great for shaping your brows (before or after penciling) and the other side contains a clear wax based product that fixes your brows in place. I like to use it after I’ve done my brows as it blends out the penciled brow nicely, but when I’m having a brows behaving badly day, it works as a great primer for brows too.

Brushes & Tools

Last but not least, I need to mention my must have brow tools, since they certainly assist in my brow appliciton.  Whether I’m using a powder or pencil brow product, I like to brush over my brows with my Real Techniques Eye Brow Pencil from the Starter Kit set. It’s just a great thickness for me and the angled, synthetic brush picks up just enough product to keep it natural. I also love to use my MAC spoolie brush to brush my brows in place before application, or to just blend out the product afterwards.
