There is a great new trend in makeup these days and it’s all about looking younger, fresher and more radiant. Gone of the days of over-caked faces and looking stern and pasty white. Today, makeup is all about looking younger, more beautiful and keeping your skin in tip-top condition.
Products are popping up all over the place, with buzzwords like “vita-mineral”, “age-rewind”, “age-renew” and “age-defy”. I tested out three products from three different cosmetics houses and brands, who have the likes of Caroline Murphy, Elle Macpherson and Chirsty Turlington as their brand ambassadors.
Estee Lauder Nutritious Vita-Mineral Makeup
I blogged about this fantastic foundation last week. It’s from Estee Lauder and it is a vita-mineral foundation that helps to protect the skin, while looking gorgeous. With time skin loses its radiance, often caused by lack of sleep, pollution, smoke and exposure to the harmful rays of the sun. This product helps to restore you skin’s appearance, with a natural finish. The formula gives your skin a healthy, sexy glow.

Revlon Age Defying Spa
Out of the three, this one has got to be my top pick. Although all three go on really well, blend really well and stay on really long, this one has a nifty little built in brush for easy application. Unlike most foundations with built in brushes, this brush is actually really nice! And it’s just like a professional foundation brush. The beauty of it, is that the product has a twist and lock applicator, so you can keep it in your bag without messing foundation all over the brush or even worse, your bag. Keep it locked, and when you’re ready to use it, twist the cap, squeeze the tube and viola!
The formula itself is really nice and blends for a natural finish with no patches.

Maybelline New York Instant Age Rewind Foundation
I must be honest, I’ve never been a very big fan of Maybelline foundations. Makeup – Yes! Foundation – No! I think I was rather put off by my first experience with their Dream Mat Mousse about four years ago (I’ve been given another sample to try so will see if it has improved at all, but that’s another topic altogether). So, when I tried their Instant Age Rewind liquid foundation, I was very, very impressed. The product claims to give your skin “firming and radiance” and it does just that. Although I did’nt powder my skin afterwards, I could really see (and feel) the flawless finish. My skin looked noticeably more glossy and natural without any caking or melting makeup.
