A Bobbi Brown Makeup Lesson

On Friday last week I was invited to visit the Bobbi Brown counter at Edgars Gateway to experience the new Tortoise Shell Collection. Now, as you know I’ve already been playing with this super cool palette, but it was nice to get a “makeup lesson” (not a makeover, Bobbi Brown style) by their National Artist Dene Booyens.

Dene did a very natural look for me using this palette and gave me a few tips to apply it properly. There are so many colours, you really can come up with a lot of looks. Dene used a combination of Ivory, Hot Stone, Sandy Rose and Dessert Sand for a simple, polished look. I left feeling great and perfectly made up, an ideal day time look.

I also learnt a great new trick for applying foundation from Dene. Instead of starting the application on the sides of your face (as a lot of women, myself included do), rather start in the centre of the face. This ensures that you apply more foundation where it’s needed and blend the rest in. She also suggested warming your hands up and just pressing your foundation in once you’re done applying to help it get absorbed. This trick works really well, and I’ve been using ever since.

To check out the Bobbi Brown Tortoise Shell Collection click here, or just visit any Bobbi Brown Counter nationwide and go see it for yourself. You will love it!

Right now, I’m lusting after the Moisture Rich Foundation from Bobbi Brown. It works wonderfully and even better with the Bobbi Brown Foundation stick, another firm favourite of mine.

Enjoy
