Last week I kicked off my Best Beauty Buys of 2009 with cleansers, makeup removers and exfoliators. This week I’m focusing on another very important step on the road to great skin; Moisturisers, eye creams and treatments for your face.
Moisturizers
To me, La Mer Moisturizing Creme Gel (1) is the Crème de la crème of all moisturiser. It’s a little pricey, but worth every cent. If you really want to give your skin an all round treat, then I highly recommend this baby. It’s gentle and leaves your skin feeling super fab and luxurious. And the bonus, you don’t need to use a separate eye cream as this moisturiser is also suitable for the sensitive area surrounding your eyes.
I was also very impressed with the new Estee Lauder Cyber White EX (2) moisturiser. This moisturiser forms part of a skin brightening system and worked wonders on my skin. I continued to use this as part of my daily skincare routine and think it’s ideal if you have skin like mine, that is prone to pigmentation.
Although this product is not classified as a moisturiser, Bobbi Brown Face Base (5) leaves your skin feeling so silky smooth, I often use it as a moisturizer. What I love about this product is how it hydrates your skin and makes the application of your makeup (foundation) go on so smooth and silky. I reviewed this cream as one my very first Fab Find Friday features on StyleScoop.
Eye Creams
I only recently started using Olay Eye Lifting Serum (6) eye cream and love it. It’s been about two weeks since I started using it daily, and love the silky smooth texture it gives the skin under my eyes. It’s also helped fill out fine lines and there are no signs of dehydration, puffiness or tiredness under my eyes.
Nutriwomen Anti Wrinkle Eye Lift (4) is another great eye cream that will leave your eyes looking refreshed and lifted.
Treatments
Let’s start with the most important treatment of all – Sun block. My favourite sun block for my face is Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess SPF 30 (3). It’s non greasy and feels great.
I believe in applying a facial mask, suitable to your skin type, at least once a week. This past year I have used many great ones, but my favourite one has go tot be MAC Volcanic Ash Thermal Mask (7). After jut five minutes it leaves your skin feeling super smooth and revitalized.
I’ve saved the very best for last. This product, I simply CANNOT live without! Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (8) is like pure magic in a bottle. A few drops of this potion to your skin, morning and night will, over consistent use, give your skin new life! It helps to brighten up your skin as it gradually reduced “cloudiness” caused by sun damage and pollution.
And, while looking after your skin every day at home should be a priority, treat yourself to a professional facial at least once every three months. My favourite one, that I encourage everyone to go for, is the Terre & Mer facial by Thalgo. It will leave your skin feeling plumped, revitalised, youthful and downright glowing. It’s unlike any facial you’ve ever had, with specific background music and a back massage to boot!
So that’s it for my top moisturisers, eye creams and treatments. Next week I’ll chat about my favourite – Makeup. Starting with the face; foundations, concealers, poweders, bronzers and blushers, so stay tuned!
