I think Victoria Beckham has taken a back seat in my Style Star Train and Kim Kardashian is in the driving seat. I just love how she pulls off colour blocking trend. So effortlessly chic, so casual cool, so hot and best of all, here’s how you can get copy Kim’s look for both day and a night time affair.
Colour Blocking for daytime
To nail the Colour Blocking Trend, Kardashian Style, you need a few basics;
- A simple white tee with pocket detail. Edgars has some really great ones that look almost identical to the one Kim K is wearing here.
- A pair of distressed jeans that you can turn up for the ultimate oh-so-cool style statement. I love this pair from Levi’s. They are Straight Cut Demi Curve Jeans in “Painted Beauty” and if you manage to find a pair (they were launched in selected Levi’s stores in July) then snap them up quick! R999
- A pair of sky high nude heels. Although Kim is wearing caged-styled Louboutin’s, this pair of colour blocking wedges from Nine West are my favourite shoes of the moment. They are called Blanca and come in other colours too for R999
- Kim doesn’t leave home without a pair of super-sized sunnies. Go for something simple and chic like these beautiful Prada glasses for R2450 available at Sunglass Hut.
Then inject some colour with a bright bag and a bright cardigan. I found this gorgeous bag, although not a Birkin like Kim’s, but still just as fabulous and in the same bright shade of lemon yellow.
Colour Blocking for the evening
Kim looked stunning in a bright and trendy Gucci ensemble when she launched her perfume, Kim Kardashian Gold recently. To steal her style, we’ve found bright young things that will make copying this look a breeze!
- Coral is this season’s must have hue! How absolutely gorgeous is this Coral corset from Sissy Boy (R599)
- This pink pencil skirt is bright, trendy and so very Kim! Get it from Metalicus at Stuttafords (R1100)
- Ahhh the shoes! Do colour blocking cool in these blue and purple stacked wedges by Errol Arendz, available at Queue (R1299)
