Dr Organic. Organic Skincare For Face, Body and Hair

I was recently invited to try out some products from the Dr. Organic line, a range of organic skincare for face, body and hair that’s recently hit South Africa.

I was keen to try out the body lotions, scrubs and hair range more than the skincare stuff, since I’m not a fan of trying out new products on my face. But the PR peeps sent over a few skincare goodies, and since I was running low, I thought I’d give them a bash.

I actually really liked the skincare line more than I had expected to. Sometimes it’s nice to be pleasantly surprised!

The Dr. Organic line consists of various ranges, including the Dead Sea Mineral, Snail Gel and the Moroccan Argan Oil range as well as a bunch of other lines that I’ve listed at the end of this post.

Each range has been formulated with organic oils and all free from petrochemicals, additives, and preservatives that strip the skin of moisture and longevity.

My favourite would have to be the Organic Dead Sea Mineral Face Wash, not only because it’s a great product, but I’m such a fuss pot when it comes to cleansers, since I’ve had my fair share of skin stripping experiences.

This one is really gentle on the face. Infused with Siberian Pine, Mandarin and Thyme Oil it is a great organic cleanser that is suitable for oily, combination, blemish-prone as well as dry, sensitive skin.

My skin is between combination and blemish prone, but it has also been really dry the past couple of weeks. This cleanser was gentle on my skin and left my face quite nourished, in that it didn’t feel tight and sensitive immediately after cleansing.

I also liked the Organic Dead Sea Mineral Skin Lotion especially for summer. It’s light and instantly leaves your skin soft and beautiful without feeling clogged or greasy.

I quite liked the smell of it too. It’s very “outdoorsy”, almost reminded me of the smell you experience when admiring a beautiful, waterfall in the mountains. Even though it’s a dead sea scent, that’s just what I got when I smelt it 🙂

Then, some goodies from the Dr. Organic Moroccan Argan Oil and Organic Snail Gel range. I loved the Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Body Souffle – a beautifully rich and indulgent body butter that smells very spa like (which I love) and soothes the skin instantly.

The Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo, I must be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of. Although it smelt good, it just didn’t’ leave my hair feeling as good as I had hoped after shampooing. It felt clean, but I had to load up on conditioners and masks to get my hair texture to feel a bit more nourished.

I was intrigued with  the Organic Snail Gel Eye Serum. It sounds kinda odd, but I tried it anyway and it’s really rather nice.

The Snail Gel range has a host of anti-aging benefits including the ability to soften wrinkles, smooth the skin and hydrate it while offering antioxidant protection.

The last product I got to try was the Organic Virgin Olive Oil Night Cream, which was fabulous.

It’s packed with Organic Virgin Olive Oil, Olive Leaf, Aloe Vera, Japanese Fruit Wax, Irish Moss, Shea Butter, Green Tea, Lemon, Vine Leaf, Thyme, Fennel, Cassis, Panthaenol and Vitamin E.

The texture is soft, and not oily at all, and gives your skin a beautiful, radiant glow. It also absorbs really well, and even though you’d think it would be oily (since it’s “Virgin Olive Oil”) it’s glorious on the skin.

You can find Dr Organic at Dischem, Wellness Warehouse, Takealot, DotMall, Zando, as well as selected Spar’s and selected Health Stores nationwide.

Other ranges available in South Africa, include: Organic Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Royal Jelly, Organic Rose Otto, Organic Lavender, Organic Pomegranate, Organic Vitamin E, Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Dead Sea Mineral, Organic Argan Oil and Organic Snail Gel.
