Eric Raisina is essentially a designer of three continents: Asia, Europe and Africa. This combination makes his fashion unique and universal.
Always interested in experimenting with designs, it was chance that took him from his hometown in Madagascar to Paris to study design at the Ecole Duperré. In 1993 he won the Young Fashion Designer Award of Madagascar, which granted him a scholarship to study in Paris.
Eric has won many international Best Designer Awards and completed his studies graduating in a Master of Textile and Fashion Design at the Institut Français de la Mode in Paris.
He has participated and worked in Fashion Shows all over the world with designers such as: Kenzo, Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Lacroix an Christian Dior. Successful with the famous Artisans d’Angkor company, he then created his own worshop in Siem Reap, Cambodia, where he lives. Eric Raisina is also the head designer of the African Mosaique label in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He continues to experiment with new techniques of weaving, dyeing and introduced his famous “silk fur”, which became a much sought after fabric in Parisian fashion boutiques. One of his trademarks is the raffia from Madagascar, which he weaves and integrates with his clothes. It is considered as a new lace.
