Following Part 1 of my New Makeup Launches To Look Out For, today I’m super excited to be bringing you part 2, which includes new launches from Maybelline and Essie.
From Maybelline…
Maybelline have released their full Ready… Contour, Strobe, Set collection. You’ve likely already seen the Maybelline Master Contour Stick which was launched a while back, and now they have just released three new additions to help you, completely master your makeup!
Ready! First up, the Maybelline Super Stay 24 Makeup Extending Primer (R159,95) – Step one to any makeup routine!
This primer helps to prep and prime your skin for flawless makeup application. The formula is non greasy and it helps to control shine, while smoothing the skin’s surface so that your makeup glides on quickly and easily.
It’s light and doesn’t feel like you have too many layers on.
I love how it felt on my skin and that it smoothed out my texture, making my foundation application a dream!
Strobe! My absolute favourite has to be the trio of Maybelline Master Strobing Sticks (R169,95 each). I’ve been waiting for these with great anticipation.
I’m a big, big fan of Maybelline’s Master Contour Stick (which I’ve pretty much used up) and these are like the next best thing! Three gorgeous glowy sticks to help you highlight and accentuate your features or bring a little brightness to your skin.
Much like the Master Contour Stick, these come in a roll up applicator, so you can apply straight onto your skin, or swirl your brush around them if you prefer, and they blend beautifully to give you a subtle glow.
There are three shades; (from left) Light-Iridescent, Medium-Nude Glow and Dark-Gold.
I actually can’t decide which one I like the most out of all three, but I’m really feeling Dark-Gold for that autumn glow!
The glow factor is not too hectic, which I also like, and they are great for day time glow without looking like your face is a disco ball!
Set! Setting sprays are having a moment, and I’m glad Maybelline has jumped on the bandwagon with their affordable Super Stay 24 Makeup-Locking Setting Spray (R149,95) which is actually pretty impressive!
The mist features an oil free finish that freshens up your makeup and helps extend the wear of your makeup as well.
If you’re looking for a setting spray that works and wont break the bank, then definitely check this one out!
It holds makeup in place really well. After I applied the Maybelline Super Stay 24 Makeup Extending Primer I applied concealer everywhere I needed it, then spritzed a bit of this beaut onto my makeup sponge and “dabbed” the concealer in. Then, I went over with foundation and finished everything with this Setting Spray and my makeup looked flawless all day long!
From Essie…
The latest from Essie in South Africa is their Fall 2016 Collection called Kimono-Over and it comprises of six shades (R134,95 each), three of which I’m excited to share with you gals today.
The three new shades from the Fall 2016 collection are on the left, starting with ; Playing Koi, Maki Me Happy and the collection namesake colour, Kimono-Over.
The collection is inspired by Tokyo – Japan’s electric capital, and it captures the city’s wild streak, while channeling the changing colours of fall foliage.
Such great colours for autumn. I love Playing Koi – It’s an almost burnt orange/ terra-cotta shade that I couldn’t wait to paint on my nails. It reminds me a bit of that Ford Ranger Wildtrak orange shade. Different, unique and very striking.
Then on the right, I’ve got three new shades from the Essie Luxe 2016 collection starting with; Glow Your Own Way, Disco Doll and In The Mood Ring.
I’m not sure if Essie sent these sparkle colours as complimenting shades for this seasonal collection, but they do compliment the Fall 2016 collection really well.
Playing-Koi pairs well with Glow Your Own Way, Maki Me Happy pairs well with Disco Doll and Kimono-Over pairs well with In The Mood Ring.
Give them a try and let me know which product you love!
