New on my Desk – MAC Surf Baby

Surf’s up dude! The new MAC Surf Baby collection launched in May 2011, and I got to try out some of the goodies from this fab new collection. Now you might have already seen this collection in store, and if you’re contemplating it, go get it! It’s gorgeous!

Yummy, bright, beach-babe colours to make any girl smile. The collection consists of a wonderful range of makeup bags, Suntints, MAC Skinsheen Bronzer Sticks, brushes, bronzing powders, pressed powders, lipsticks, lipglass, Blushette, cheek powders, nail lacquers, crushed metallic pigment (my absolute faves), Splashproof mascara, Powerpoint eye pencils and eye shadows.

Let’s take a closer look…

The packaging is really cool and has a beach/ surf theme going on.

Crushed Metallic Pigments

These come in a stack-able pot of four colours. The one has champagne, pinky, purpley and brown shades, while the other stack has more silvers, greens, golds and blue. Above are two colours from the first stack, Summer Stash. On the left is a wonderful pinky-purple shade, Light Violet with Silver Pearl and on the right is Brown Bronze with Gold Pearl.

I’m a huge fan of MAC pigment pots and these are just that much more with the added glitter. Gotta love it. I hope I can get to the MAC counter in time to buy the other stack, Surf the Ocean as I love the golds and blues. And at only R360 for a stack of 4 shades, it’s totally worth it.

Eye Shadow

I’ve been on the hunt for a perfect grey shadow and this one, Swell Baby is just ideal. Other colours include a frosty champagne (Short Shorts), yellowish tone (Sun Blonde), deep coral (Saffron) and frosted teal (Surf USA), each one R150.

Lipsticks

Gorgeous lip colours to indulge in. The top one is Bust Out, a dirty mid tone violet and the bottom one is Hibiscus, a bright orange coral shade. The rest of the collection includes a creamy white nude (Naturally Eccentric) and a peachy, yellow-brown (Mocha).

Skinsheen Bronzer Stick

Another firm fave from this collection, this bronzer is ideal for keeping in your beach bag. There are three variations, a soft suntan bronze (Tan-Tint), a warm golden tan (Billionare Bronze) and the one I got to sample, Gilty Bronze, a coppery bronze with gold shimmer.

I need to get my butt over to a MAC counter to get the Surf the Ocean pigment stack and the Powerpoint Eye Pencil. There is a yellow white frosted one, Gilded White I simply must have.

Enjoy
