My current obsession is wearing striped tees (long for winter) and layering them with a denim shirt or camo jacket. Then, rolling the sleeves up just a bit to let the stripes peek out. This style is very JCrew, and I love it! It gives an otherwise boring outfit a stylish edge! I’m obsessed! Here are three ways I’ve worn peek-a-boo sleeves… I wore this outfit when we went up Sani Pass back in March this year. It was fa-fa-freezing up there! The darker it got, the colder it got. I managed to wear this outfit while the sun (not that you can see it) was out, and later I put on my leather bomber jacket under my sleeveless puffer jacket. I love the combination of my denim shirt and the black and white long sleeved tee. Look at how the stripes peek out on the arms, and I love how the stripes peek out at the back too! Nothing I’m wearing in this outfit is new, except for my Caterpillar Military Boots! Black Jeans – Woolworths RE, Black & White Tee – Zara, Denim Shirt – Edgars, Puffer Sleeveless Jacket – Woolworths. When I did the CROCS “Make A Splash” shoot in April, we had to bring our own outfits. I got to see the selection of Crocs rainboots that we’d be using in advance, and when I saw the forest navy wellies, I chose this outfit. Here I’m wearing the same black and white top from Zara, with my Sissy Boy 8th Wonder Jeans, my Camo button up shirt from Cotton On and my Forest Navy Crocs Wellies! Here, I went for laid back casual kinda look. I paired my blue and white striped tee from Cotton On, with my Camo shirt (also from Cotton On) and since I was all blue and white, I had to wear my Converse High Top sneakers. I was feeling very “varsity”, so I threw on a blue and white striped scarf from Trenery. To keep feeling the blues, I finished it off with my Raphaella Booz wrap stud bracelet, that I got as a birthday gift. Peek a boo sleeves (as I like to call them), are fun and can be incorporated into any style. My favourite is to “peek-a-boo” with stripes becuase they add interest. This same kinda look can be done with short sleeved and three quarter tops. Just make sure there is enough arm room in your outer shirt to roll it higher. Have fun with stripes! Which look is your fave? Xo Dimi
