Happy Wednesday fabulous people! I wanted to share a wonderful initiative that’s currently happening with Cadbury P.S., where you can play fairy godmother and make a young girls dream come true!
Do you remember your Matric Farewell? Remember the hype and excitement of the day? Remember the dress? Ahh the dress, which made you feel like a princess…
While you may be smiling ear to ear right now, reminiscing about how beautiful, or perhaps even how OTT it was, it’s easy to forget that many girls out there don’t even get a choice when it comes to having their own, special Cinderella moment.
Farewells are big business these days, and parents spend thousands to ensure their kids are wearing the most beautiful dresses and driven by the fanciest cars on the night. Heck, some matric farewell dresses cost more than wedding gowns, and the sad reality is, that while some kids live in excess, there are so many living in our country who only dream of having a pretty dress to say farewell to their schooling years.
But here’s where you can actually make a difference!
Thanks to the wonderful initiative by Cadbury P.S. #PSGiveADress, they are encouraging all South Africans to sort through their wardrobes and pull out any pre-loved dresses which they can donate. These dresses will be collected and given to disadvantaged girls in various townships within Gauteng, who are unable to hire or buy a dress of their own.
Make Dresses Happen For Someone Who Needs It!
All you have to do is take your pre-loved dress to any of the below, The Space clothing stores and be sure to drop them off between the 11th of July and the 14th August 2016.

- PRETORIA Woodlands, Brooklyn
- CAPE TOWN Canal Walk, Cavendish
- PE Baywest
Also gals, it’s not about giving your pre-loved Matric Farewell dress (unless you still have it and you do want to give it away). It’s about giving a dress that made you feel special and a dress that can help someone else to feel special too. I’m sure you’ll find a pretty party dress, an evening gown or even a bridesmaid’s dress you wore once upon a time, that would make the perfect Matric Farewell gown for a young girl out there.
