Don’t grin and bare it anymore! Give those lips some love and beat the cold with three of my current favourite, tried tested and loved lip balms for winter and all year round…
Honeyguide Beeswax Ointment is a beautiful, moisturising beeswax balm that nourishes and soothes your lips. It contains beeswax and propolis, harvested from holistically managed honeybees and blended with cold pressed jobajoba oil and almond oil.
You can use this ointment for your lips, or as an all rounder to assist with the healing of bed stores, burns, cold sores, dry and cracked skin, eczema, psoriasis, haemorrhoids, insect bites, stings, nappy rashes, even skin ailments on your beloved pets. Shew-we!
I picked this one up for under R50 (for 25ml) at the Irene Dairy Farm shop but managed to find it online here for R51. It’s such a beautiful, balmy ointment that has really helped my lips look their best. The formula is not at all sticky, or oily, but rather comforting and lovely on the lips!
Kinda obsessed with it!
Dermalogica Climate Control Lip Balm is another great lip balm that gives your lips a barrier against climatic assaults! In other words, its perfect for winter when your lips get chapped and flaky, and equally beneficial in summer when the heat can dry out your lips.
It helps heal acutely damaged skin with shea butter and a unique extract blend that shields your lips against pollution, temperature extremes, stress and hormonal factors.
Again, this lip balm feels nice and soothing on the lips without feeling filmy or sticky and it contains no artificial fragrances or colour.
Winner!
Buy it online from Dermalogica’s website for R155 for 4.5g
Optiphi Active Lip Formula is a multi tasking lip treatment that rebalances the moisture content of your lips on a cellular level, while restoring and protecting against trans-epidermal water loss. In other words, if your lips are dry and in need of a moisture boost that works to treat the cause, then this is your best friend.
It contains ceramides to strengthen, repair and rebuild the skin’s barrier and keep moisture locked in as well as shea butter and coconut oil for extra moisture, protection and nourishment.
Such a beauty and proudly South African!
Buy it from Optiphi stockists at the recommended retail price of R350 for 2g
