Spring Harmony – Chanel Makeup Collection 2012 Review

Trust Chanel to come up with yet another lustworthy makeup collection. I absolutely love thier colour collections! Their nail polishes are always one step ahead, offering colours that are unique and true to the brand’s fashion forward thinking.

We may be a season behind when it comes to fashion, but thankfully we can still get our hands on the latest, 2012 Spring Makeup Collection from Chanel. It launches at at all Chanel counters on the 27th January 2012!

I got to play with the full nail polish collection and a blusher that’s to die for!

Let’s start with the nail polishes (R235 each). I love the names of the three nail colours in the new ChanelĀ  Spring Harmony collection; April, May and June – named after three months of Spring in the northern hemisphere.

April is a highly luminous garnet of wild berries. It may seem like an unlikely “spring” colour”, but it’s really a pretty shade that looks great for any season. I guess it would be the perfect transition from winter into spring; when you’re not feeling quite as fun and flirty but still want to melt away the winter blues. It’s a true Chanel quality shade, and by that I mean it’s highly pigmented and goes on beautifully with one coat.

May is a lovely spring shade in a pretty intense pink. Now while I may have a lot of nail polishes in my collection, I don’t have anything quite like it or any of them actually. It reminds me of a sky-pink, you know when the sun sets to create that lovely light pink that’s not overly bright.

June is a colour like no other. It’s a pastel apricot and is the most amazing shade of peach I’ve ever seen. While April goes on like a “true” Chanel polish, May and June are slightly more streaky and you will definitely need more than one coat. That’s not to say that they are not worth the Chanel price tag, the colours alone make them fabulous! I wore the colour June in this post, just look how pretty it is.

Now onto my first Chanel blusher, Blush Horizon de Chanel (R605) a beautiful striped soft glowing blush. At first glance this blush may seem a little “too pink”, but once it’s applied it gives your cheeks a gorgeous summer glow that’s barely there. It must be the mix of the stripes that give it this fantastic finish.

The product itself, although too pretty to want to use, feels luxuriously silky on your cheeks. I love it!

The whole collection is centred around Spring Harmony; in the fresh of dawn and the softness of sunset, which I think Chanel aced!

There are a few other products in this collection which I didn’t get to try, but will definitely be visiting the Chanel counter later this month to try them out. Here they are below for all you die-hard Chanel makeup fans…
