By now, I’m sure you’ve seen and heard all the @SandtonCity girls who have been to the very first ZARA store in South Africa, brag and show off their ZARA purchases.
If you haven’t, or even if you have, here’s an idea of what they get to experience. The Sandton City ZARA outlet is one of the largest ZARA outlets in the world! It’s more than 2, 700 square meters on a single floor! Shoe-wee! That’s bigger than our first townhouse, possibly even the whole block of them!
What you probably didn’t know about ZARA is that the South African range is customized exclusively for South African’s, taking into account our climatic conditions. ZARA is probably one of the world’s leading fashion brands; loved by millions, including celebrities and a big hit with fashion bloggers, but thanks to ZARA, we wont have to wait for the trends to hit South Africa a season later! We’ll get the trendy styles, the same time that the fashion world living in the Northern Hemisphere gets them! With only adjustments to the fabric, which will be suited for our different seasons. No more waiting for last year’s trends to become “hot numbers” here in SA.
@StyleGuideCT, the lucky little *&#*@ was fortunate enough to join other local Fashion mag Ed’s on a trip to Spain to get briefed, VIP style on the ZARA SA store concept. She’s written a very informative piece on ZARA South Africa – Everything you need to know, which, if you’re a ZARA die hard like I am, is a must read!
As for me, here in sunny but ZARA-less Durban and those of you in Cape Town, who are also lusting after the four letter word that makes our fashion heels click, I desperately tried to scoop up some info on when we can expect ZARA in our city too. Unfortunately I couldn’t get much out accept “On our next store opening…. we will have to wait and see, but we are very excited!!!!” Arrh ZARA, why oh why do you tease me like this?
Sandton girls, shop till you drop, but leave some for me! I’m coming to Joburg in January and the first thing on my list is to hit ZARA! Let’s just pray that my bank shares the same love for ZARA. I have my eye on their coloured blazers with roll up sleeves! I want them in every colour!
The ZARA Collection… here’s what you can expect
The collection, with a truly sophisticated woman in mind, offers very feminine lines in pencil skirts and slim-line trousers, paired with jackets and coats with masculine tailoring in rich and sumptuous fabrics including cotton and silk with touches of lurex.
For men, the retailer sells suits in soft fabrics, subtle sheens and contrasts with narrow lapels and slim-fit trousers in clean, pleat-less styles for a slim line silhouette that offers a contemporary twist on tailoring.
The Kids range features blends and layers for today’s ever-more-sophisticated children who aspire to dress like grown-ups.
ZARA is already in 80 countries, five continents and more than 1,750 ZARA stores world wide.
